PHEW.. it's been a while since I have blogged. It's been a long few months with some personal medical issues and other stuff that has prevented me from being.. well me. Slowly but surely I'm getting back to normal but after this long road it will be a while. So in my free time what have I been doing? Well I'm glad you asked.. I have been reading.. DUH.

I have discovered a new author that I absolutely LOVE her books. She is Chole Neill author of the Chicagoland Vampire Series. Here is a list of the books that are currently available..

Some Girls Bite is the 1st book in the series introducing Merit a former grad student to the world of Chicago vampire who just came out. She was attacked and campus and was changed by Master Vampire of the Cadogan House, Ethan Sullivan (he is SUPER yummy). Cadogan House is one of 3 houses in the Chicago area. Its such a great first book to such a great series.

Friday Night Bites is the 2nd book in the Chicagoland Vampire series. Once again, Merit who is now Sentinel of Cadogan House is working for Ethan Sullivan (SO DREAMY) and is talked into rejoining the socialites of Chicago to investigate why her old friend and journalist Nicholas Breakenridge is trying to make vampires look evil to the human world. Nothing boring about Merit and Ethan I can tell you that!

Twice Bitten, the latest release takes Merit and Ethan into the world of shifters as a conference is held in Chicago.. OH OH MERIT and ETHAN.. nuff said :) This books bring you a little more into the vamp and were world with Gabriel, Apex to the North American Pack learning a disappointing betrayal by someone close to him in the pack and Ethan and Merit playing security for the conference. I'm really interest to see what Gabriel sees in Merit's future when it comes to his son... what am I talking about... READ THE BOOKS :)

What else have I have been reading... well my other FAVORITE authors of course!!

YEAH BABY!! Rapture Untamed! Jag's book.. you have NO IDEA I was waiting a year for this book. After she released 3 books Desire Untamed, Obsession Untamed and Passion Untamed, in 3 months it was a long and painful wait but IT WAS WORTH IT! Jag is the ass of the bunch and he likes it that way until he meets Olivia a Therian Guard. She has a secret that she is keep as does he. As a strong willed woman can only do, Olivia breaks through the cold wall that Jag has built around his heart and she shows him what true love is all about. PAMELA.. WRITE FASTER :) The next book up will be Kougar's book which she touched a little bit about his history and his MATE.. yes MATE! and... there is a cliffhanger too *sigh*

T-minus... RELEASE NEXT TUESDAY!!! YES! This will be it! WHOO HOO!

Okay.. I need to rest now but I realized there is another series I have not mentioned and of course Shelly Laurenston's new book so I will blog about that in the next few day! HAPPY READING EVERYONE!! Until next time!

Birthday and First Drop of Crimson

So it is Monday and looking at the calendar.. my nephew Steven will be 21 tomorrow.. How time has flown by when I was taking this cute little boy around with me where ever I go. Now he has grown up to be a good kid and a fine young man. I wish I could turn back time and get to hold that little boy again... *sigh*.. I'm getting old...

okee enough of the mush... OHHHHHHHHH EMMMMMMMMMMMM GEEEEEEEEEEEEEE great book I read last week and I blogged about the author herself.. JEANIENE FROST. First Drop of Crimson, the first book in the Night Huntress World. ROCKED... she does not disappoint her readers AT ALL!

In the Night Huntress Series, you meet Spade and get bits and pieces of his past and who he is. In First Drop of Crimson the questions that you may have had or yearning to know about Spade is revealed.

Denise, Cat's best friend, has lost her husband, Randy in a New Year's Eve battle (At Grave's End). She has disconnect herself from the vampire world until a demon targets her family members. Her ancestor had made a deal with the demon and reneged on the deal. Now the demon had branded her and wants her to find him and turn him over to the demon. Not knowing where to turn and not wanting to get her best friend and husband killed... she calls Spade.

Spade who does not have "relationships" with human except to feed and shag, agrees to help her but can't deny the attraction that he had when he first met her on the New Year's Eve when her husband died. Not wanting to involve his best friend (Bones) and his wife he agrees to help. And in the mean time denying and surpressing the emotions that only one other raised in him 150 years ago.

Their adventure trucks them between the US and Europe to find her relative. In the mist of all the jet lag and time zone changes... the essence of the demon has been working its course through Denise. What happens during their adventure will shock and touch you... questions are answered and pasts are revealed.

Your favorite characters from the Night Huntress series are present in the book... Cat, Bones, Fabian, Mencheres and Ian. Ian is such an arrogant a** but is so funny!

I really really enjoyed this book.. Jeaniene Frost does not disappoint. You get a hint of a set up for the next book in the Night Huntress world which according to Jeaniene Frost's website is due out July 2010. A must read for Night Huntress Fans!

As stated in the last blog.. the Night Huntress Series is a MUST READ! *points at self* FAN GIRL

Dudes.. if you have not read Jeaniene Frost yet.. the hell are you waiting for. I don't fan girl many authors but in the vampire world.. I fan girl Jeaniene Frost. She is the author of The Night Huntress series and YES today is release day for the first book in the Night Huntress World.

The first book in the Night Huntress series that kicks this whole shindig off is Halfway to the Grave. Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father—the one responsible for ruining her mother's life. Then she's captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unholy partnership. Book 3 in the series is At Grave's End.

This is my most CHERISHED book. Yeah I have two copies.. alright I have two copies of each of the book but one of the is the ARC.. yes the ARC I got 2 or 3 months before the release of this book. AND.. all my books are signed by Jeaniene herself. Bones.. Spades.. Cat.. all bad ass.. except for Tate.. HATE Tate.. such a goon.. but I guess you have to have one in every book.

Today.. RELEASE DAY! I ran out.. during lunch in a SNOW STORM to buy.. First Drop of Crimson. I am 3 chapters in but the thing is for me.. its so great to see Bones and Cat's name in a book again! I'm very very excited to read it..

The second book in the Night Huntress world will be in July 27, 2010 per Jeaniene's website and the book is titled Eternal Kiss of Darkness. Mencheres, Bones' grandsire's book... here is a blurp for her website..

Authors and Series - Eververse

So I have been blogging about some of the books that I have read and ya now.. I really have not really put a dent in them.. so with this being February 1st. I will blog weekly about my favorite author's and their series. Let's start out with a good friend of mine.

Stella and Audra Price. The Price Sisters...you can check out their website at www.stellaandaudra.com. There you can find the world of Eververse. Let's start out with a little history. I met Stella last year at the Romantic Times convention in Orlando, FL. She is a very fun lovin' gal. A little wacked ... well aren't we all but has a great heart. After meeting her I started to read her books... well kind of backwards. I started with the DuVall, Inc. series and there were some characters that I was like okay he's a demon.. exiled prince yadi-yadi-ya.. but didn't get the jist of the story until I started the Evereverse Series.

EVERVERSE

The first book in the Eververse Series is Sugar and Sin.

This is the first book in the Eververse series and it is quite different from other books that I have read. You have royal demons, 1/2 demons and witches. The story starts out with two modern day James Bond, the dynamic dual Fallon and Feyd. They are hitmen... thieves... they LOVE women, you name it, they'll do it.. even the women. They are sent out by their boss to recover a stolen spell. They killed the werewolf that was suppose to have stolen a spell. They kill him before they got further information but finds out that his "girlfriend" may have kept it. The hit is now on her...

Ashlyn has no idea what is going on... her friend is killed, she's on the run and ask the help of her friend Astrid and head to Shadow Heights. One night when Ashlyn and Astrid were asleep the hitmen comes for Ashlyn... The man that is there to kill her happens to be the same one she has been talking to for a few weeks in very explicit ways and the other hitman happens to be her flatmate's long lost boyfriend ... Things get complicated...

You are introduced to the Afterverse where demons dwell and the exiled Prince, Cassiel (Cash). He is working his way back to reclaim the throne in Afterverse... he is plotting his way back along with claiming allies to do so. Arcady... a pleasure demon has the nickname of Mr. Fantasy with the ladies and also helps the dynamic dual as much as he can. I thought that this is a great first book into this world where there are unanswered questions.. reader may be like huh... but some questions will be answered as the book goes on and other I can't wait to read the other books for them to be revealed.

The next book in this series is Silk and Steel... ah Mr. Fantasy...

Silk and Steel starts where Sugar and Sin leave off... Arcady is asked to go to Russia to look for his friend Fallon's long lost cousin, Alice. He finds her in the most unusual place. She is not the Alice that they thought they would find.. she is an enforcer... Prince Dimitri's enforcer and he gives her soul over to his older brother Cash in the states. Reliving and remembering the pains of her past and reuniting with her cousin Fallon, she finds the support and love from the incubus Arcady. She needs someone to take care of her and he needs someone to take care of....

Silk and Steel is a great read right after Sugar and Sin. I loved Arcady is Sugar and Sin, but in Silk and Steel I love him more for showing a more tender side to Fallon's long lost cousin. With the ending of Silk and Steel I cannot wait to continue the Eververse series with Frost and Flame..

Next on the list is Frost and Flame.. Cash and Faris...

The story again, picks up where Silk and Steel left off. A little one is expected which pushes Cash's time line up to get back to the Afterverse. He bargains with his friend to convince other kingdoms and exiled princes to give him their support. Throughout the book, you see how calculating Cash is to get where he wants to be and that is back home and to be the true king. There are people in his way Fuerty and his half brother Gabe. They will die but when is still a mystery. He also has his suspicions about Fallon and Snow but has not share it with his princess or anyone else. They are special and powerful.. but how? As this book continues, you meet character from different kingdoms and how they all intertwine together in one way or another. You have your loyal servant in Sallos but with what his king did to him, he now has made an enemy out of. You have the passive Murphy who thinks his race is beneath the others however Cash know that he is a very powerful demon. Oscar who is ever faithful to his friend Cash and wouldn't even think twice to take out his brother, Drake, down if he had to... and many more very awesome character that I did not mention. There are twists and turns to get to the end result... to go home and be a great king of the Afterverse. This book has a great balance of action, adventure and HOTNESS!!!

The latest book.. Masquerade... OHHHH EMMMM GEEEEE.. Can I get an Oscar please.. I LOVE HIM! He is a gentleman on so many different level but when the door is closed.. YEAH!

This has all your favorite character from earlier books: Fallon, Astrid, Cash, Faris and others, however this focuses more on Oscar (Conglacio General - Ice Demon) and Uriel a Congalcio noblewoman.

Hidden from the Congalcio court, Uriel finds herself an interest to the old king's bastard son Gabbe. Keeping an eye on Gabbe in the Afterverse for the true heir and King of the Congalcio, Cassiel (Cash), Oscar diverts Gabbe in his plan to have an heir with a Congalcio woman.

Uriel, raised by her father is innocent since she was not tutored in the pleasure courts when she came of age, is curious about the General. Oscar sees her as a true beauty pure and precious. As their courtship progresses, Oscar found the one that is a true lady that would be best suit his station along with one that best suits him behind closed doors. Will Astrid be successful bringing Queen Jolie back ... Will Gabbe find out where his true place in the family lie ... will the next generation of demons come at last... and there is a secret that when it is revealed will affect not only Uriel and Oscar but the whole Congalico royal house.. READ and find out...

It a toss up between Masquerade and Frost & Flame as my favorite book in the series. The EVERVERSE ROCKS!!!

The next book to come out is Leather and Moonshine which is Drake's book.

Of what Stella has told me.. I am anticipating its release. AUDRA.. GETA WRITING WILL YA! She's with child and soon to pop. You can purchase these books from the links on their website. They also have free reads there too to give you a glimpes of the Eververse world.

It's BOOK BUYING Day

This only happens every few Tuesday where I am super duper excited and today is a Tuesday that I'm totally stoked! A booke I have been waiting for to be release is Ecstasy Unveiled by Larrisa Ione.

If you have not read any of her books yet.. DO SO! This is her 4th book in the Demonica Series. Lore's book.. who is Lore.. dude.. read the first 3 books. The series is based on a group of Seminus demons who are doctors, paramedics .. okay those in the medical profession who run a demon hospital. LOVE LOVE the brother in the stories..

The first book Pleasure Unbound sets the tone and the story of the brothers. This is Eidolon's story.. head doctor at the hospital .. AND HOT!

Second book in the series is Desire Unchained. Shade's book and Eidolon's brother... OH SHADE.. LOVE HIM..

The third book is Passion Unleashed... AH Wraith.. the younger and troublesome brother... oh did I mention he is half vamp? Yup vamp lovers.. he is.

Why are my descriptions vague.. dude.. I told you who were in the books.. NOW its you that needs to read it. They are awesome. I had the privilege to meet Larrisa at RT last year and I have my books signed by her. She is super AWESOME ... dude.. she really is.

Okee what else do I have under my sleeves... ummm other than Ecstasy Unveiled which I will be buying today.. I am thinking about getting Everlasting Kiss by Amanda Ashley (vamp book)

and Pridemates: Shifter Unbound (shifter book) by Jennifer Ashley. Yeah I'm shifter-ing it. Since Laurenston and Palmer brought me to that side. Let's see if Jennifer Ashley can be comparable.

I have been reading the dragons series by GA Aikens (Shelly Laurenston). Its based in old times different world setting. I have actually really enjoyed it.. however it does not have the humor like the Pack or Pride series. Here are the books..

Also I have been reading Three Day To Dead by Kelly Meding.

It got great snaps from Jeaniene Frost and you all know I FAN GIRL Jeaniene.. so far the book has an interesting concept. I will review it when I'm done with it...

So it looks like I will have an itty bitty procedure done on my shoulder. I noticed this lump on my shoulder umm a while ago but within the last month or two I noticed that the color of my skin has turned to a purple-ish bruise color. Anywho.. I hate going to doctors so I called and made an appointment with a new doc. Someone closer to my house. After she looked at it she said that she wanted x-rays done to make sure that it is not on the bone. WTF.. a lump from the bone.. is that possible. Anywho.. after my appt. I went to get the x-rays done. WOW... they turned the x-rays around FAST.. she got the results that same afternoon. It is not on the bone.. which is good but at this time its inconclusive and wanted to know if I wanted it out.. HELL YEAH I want it out. So I have an appointment with the surgeon on the 1st of February and we will see.. so since I talk a lot about books here is something about my life. I will post again in a day or so and a FAB author Pamela Palmer.. I think I will be fan girling her too! Oh .. and TOBY COMES HOME THIS WEEKEND!

2010 ALREADY!

So it's the beginning of a new decade.... I hope that you're holiday went well... I for one am HAPPY that it is over. Why is it that it was so much fun as a child and it sucks as an adult? Any who... the last time I blogged I was chatting away about Shelly Laurenston's Magnus Pack series. If you haven't picked it up yet... umm.. why not? Her other series that is totally good is her Pride series. You get a feel of what the pride is about in the pack series but for serious Laurenston's books have yet to let me down.

The first book in the series is The Mane Event. Its a two for one-er with 1st of the two called Christmas Pride which is the story of Mace Llewellyn (lion shifter) and Desiree "Dez" MacDermot. This story give you a good foundation of what the series will hold. Mace is part of the well known and wealthy Llewellyn Pride who has always loved Dez MacDermot since he was a skinny kid all those years ago. Since coming back from the Navy (he was a Navy Seal) he want to live his own life away from his sisters and the pride and open up a business with his best friend Smitty who happens to be a werewolf and now head of the NY Smith Pack. The second part of the book is Shaw's Tail. It follows the endind of the Christmas Pride really well.. Who am I kidding.. all her ending to the books flow SO WELL into the other. I loved it. Anywho... Shaw.. Brendon Shaw... could I find a lion like that? He is a hotel owner and a lion shifter who gets hurt in a fight and is nursed back by Ronnie Lee Reed, beta female of the NY Smith Pack. I would say so much about it that I would give it away and tell you ... GO GET IT! SO GOOD!

The second book in the Pride series is The Beast in Him.. oh Bobby Ray Smith (leader of the NY Smith Pack) ..such a romantic. This is Bobby Ray's (Smitty) book. He and Mace have opened thier business... NOT going to tell you what it is.. read the book :) WHen he finds a ghost from his past by what she is known now is Jessica Ward.. to him, she will always be the shy wild dog shifter Jessie Ann Ward. She has broken out of shy shell and is now alpha of the her own pack.... will Bobby Ray convince Jessie Ann that they belong together... read it :)

Book three in the series The Mane Attraction.. Okay can I just say that with each new book, Laurentson does NOT miss a beat or are there gaps in between. Its flows so well and THIS is my favorite book of the series thus far.. Two words... Mitch & Sissy Mae. Mitch Shaw (lion shifter) is Brendon's younger brother Sissy Mae Smith (werewolf and little sister to Bobby Ray & alpha female of the NY Smith Pack) are such a hoot together. I swear I laughed so much with these two. After the event is the second book, Mitch get's hurt and Sissy Mae being his partner in crime wants to protect him and brings him where?? to Tenessee. Mitch is the BIGGEST drama king known to man. Its so great! I loved this story..

The fourth book hate the cover.. loved the book... The Mane Squeeze is about Gwen O'Neill (Mitch's sister & lion shifter) and Lachlan 'Lock' MacRyrie (bear shifter). Okay when I thought seriously vamp girl reading about bear shifters... DUDE... I loved it! Gwen the tough Philly lioness and Lock the all so calm Jersey Bear hooking up? Great story. You have a hockey player and a roller derby chick! AND... much much more... I cannot wait to see where to takes us next.

With all her books, the character from the other books just don't fall off the face of the book, the continue on in the series with the main characters of the books.

PICK UP SHELLY LAURENSTON'S PRIDE SERIES.. after Magnus Pack of course..

Fingers are tired.. next time I think I will go back to talking about vamps ;-)

Yeah its been over a month.. bad blogger.. bad blogger.. anywho .. Turkey Day came and went.. yeah not even gonna go there with that one and Christmas is around the corner ... literally.. like next week.. Have a I started shopping nope.. but somehow I have been tremendously busy.. sorry to all my friend that I have not been able to catch up with.. its been crazy in the Tran household with me and the two dogs. Anywho I caught a new author recently thanks to dear friends of mine, and LOVE HER. Where the hell have I been and why didn't I pick up her books earlier...

Shelly Laurenston everyone.. *applaude* her Magnus Pack and Pride series are a must read. If you have not yet.. the heck are you waiting for. I am a vamp girl through and through however Pamela Palmer and Shelly Laurenston is turning into dare I say it .. shifter lover... anywho.. here a run down of her books..

Magnus Pack series follows three friends through their adventure into the shifter world. The first book in the series Pack Challenge is about Sara Morrighan. Her parents died when she was very young and was raised by her grandmother. She had this limp in her leg since she was a child due to an animal attack that her and her father went through. She always had the love and support of her two best friends Miki Kendrick and Angie Santiago. However a stanger comes into town looking for her. Not only is he a stanger but a hot biker named Zach Sheridan. This is a great first book in the series.. it set it up so well and if you love paranormal romance with a sense of humor... this is where to start.

Next... Go Fetch.. okee what kind of a title is this.. well you have to know Miki Kendrick to get it. This next book is about Miki, one of Sara's best friends. A genius of a girl that love bikes, brawling and books. She caught the eye of Zach's friend Conall Vga-Feilan. A viking of a man that Conall is, he tries to catch the every running Miki who hides from this shifter. Not only does she catch the eye of Conall also a pack of hyena shifter try to take a hold of her in order to get to her friend Sara... okee LOVE MIKI.. her wise crack, smart ass attitude.. she won me over. Conall, such a sweet and patient man.. they make the perfect couple... Why is it called Go Fetch... well to me its because Miki and Zach have this love/hate-tolerate relationship. She likes to push his button so since he is a wolf, she tell him to go fetch a lot... LOVE IT

The third book... Here Kitty Kitt is Angelina's book. She mets her own shifter as well. Like Miki, Angelina is full human however don't let her looks fool you. She will kick anyones ass in designer shoes. She like Miki, are targeted by a hyena pack. She is "kidnapped" my a family of tiger shifters. Nik Vorislav is the eldest Siberian tiger brothers have to deal with the fact that his younger brothers kidnapped Angie in order to save her from the hyenas. Keeping her safe until the Magnus Pack comes and collect her, she must stay and deal with Nik and his family. The chemistry between these two.. WOW.. just WOW.. LOVE IT

Okee that is the Magnus Pack series.. I will blog about the Pride series soon. I would now, but my fingers are tired. SO until then, pick up the Magnus Pack series by Shelly Laurenston. Paranormal romance with humor.. you won't be disappointed!

I was asked by a friend of mine... whatcha gonna blog about... review book? You know.. maybe.. however I have a friend that reviews books sooooo much better than I do.. right Tash? But I may just start out slow with that and throw in some what's happening in my world kinda thing too.

Let's start with the Bridget Jones check list:

Now... What's going on in my world. Let's just say that my company is giving in to the recession feel. We have tried and hold on for 11 months now and now... have to do the inevitable. *looks at follower* okee no employees following me... I'm laying off 20% of our work force next Monday. I have the list of names. Some peeps, I'm doing the happy dance about... others who are dedicated and hard workers, I have to look at and smile like nothing is wrong. We're hoping to do call backs in 6-8 weeks. Crossing my fingers and toes on that one.

Books: what am I reading... Umm an assortment of books at this time. Darkfever by KMM, Queene of Light by Jennifer Armintrout... hold up.. I just noticed a theme here. FAE! I'm a vamp girl with occasional demons and shifters... but FAE? OMG.. I need to take my temperature.. I think instead of the Swine Flu I have the Fae Flu...

Okee.. well that was about a lot of rambling nothing.. so I'm off to do what I'm paid to do and see what the day unfolds for me...

What's going on! Nothing.. it's only Thursday

So a week ago today I was super excited about AAD a week later.. sitting at my desk.. again.. and blogging. What's new that happened. Well... the planning for AAD 2010 is going to start soon. I'm super excited about that. Also planning on what cons to go to next year. AAD is a for sure thing. Stella would kill me if I don't. Then I don't know if I want to do RT again this year. *shrug* The jury is stil out on that one batman.

I have been in contact with the fabulous authors from AAD. They are so cool... I mean as a fan and reader its comparable to meeting a super star. But they are so done to earth that its so easy to talk to them. Okee anywho... my group on Shelfari has picked the book of the month and it happens to be Jennifer Armintrout's new series. So the group has spoken and we will be reading Queene of Light and Child of Darkness for November. Okee since I read and have started to attend convos I thought why the heck not, let's start a blog since I spend a lot of my time on Shelfari.. why not waste more time :-) Just kidding. Where to start.. okee... SO this past year so far has been pretty awesome when it comes to the reading world. I have met SOOOOO many awesome people from all over the world that share my passion of reading paranormal romance & urban fantasy books.

This year at the last minute, I decided to take a trip down to the Romantic Times (RT) Convention down in Orlando, Florida. I decided to go.. oh 10 days before the event. I truly went to see some people: Renee, Marcella and Tash. I got a bonus that I also met Rhonda, Marissa, Kerry, Suzanne and my very close friend now.. author Stella Price (1/2 of the writing team of Stella and Audra Price). Also, during that time I got to met my FAVORITE authors too such as Jeaniene Frost.. I SO FAN GIRL HER, Joey W Hill.. the nicest person EVER!... Larissa Ione.. so cool and also Jocelyn Drake, Melissa Marr, Mark Henry, Sunny.. OMG.. so many to name. It was good times, got signed book from them all!

After that... more and more reading. During that time, I developed a group called Just the Vamps on Shelfari. My friend Amy who lives on an island in the pacific stayed back and held down the fort there. I devoured so many books and yes, I have a book addiction.

After RT, Stella and I talked ALL the time and I got the priveldge to read her and Audra's rough works. A reader's dream come true I tell ya! Stella was prepping for her own convo called Author's After Dark Paranormal Weekend. Girl worked her ASS off along with putting out a few books during that time too! She IS the Tazamanian Devil!

Well with all that.. AAD was this past weekend in Suffern, NY. My girl Renee and Suzanne made it to the event. Marcella was suppose to come over from Ireland but she got sick and was not able to make it. SO SAD! To sum it up.. the weekend was AWESOME! It was small and intimate and you know what.. IT WAS AWESOME! RT is really big and AAD, is very intimate and you get to really have one on one time with the authors. I AM JOEY HILL'S NEW FAN GIRL! I JUST LOVE HER! If you have not had a chance to read Stella & Audra Price's book or Joey Hill's books... WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
